MENA’s leading app
developer also launches official FC Barcelona Studio app in the presence of Barca
officials
Dubai - Monday, October 13th, 2014: Tawasol, the leading digital strategy and software development firm that
specialises in developing customised mobile apps in support of clients’
business goals, has announced a raft of announcements on the second day of
GITEX to reshape app development for mobile devices in the GCC. The
announcements came during a press conference that was held in Sharjah Hall A at
Dubai World Trade Center as part of GITEX 2014.
First up, Tawasol
has announced the launch of its Go App building service that offers a
democratic, accessible route for companies and individuals to build apps as per
their business needs with a fraction of the cost and hassle associated with
conventional development.
“His Highness
Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum has been an inspiration for us, with his
directive to introduce Smart Government and mobility to Dubai’s public sector.
We wanted to take that message far and wide. We’ve therefore sunk considerable
resources and R&D into developing a robust, easy to use, highly accessible
platform for users to create their own apps and deliver value by interacting
with their audiences across mobile devices,” said Dr Osama Moustafa, CEO of
Tawasol.
The company has
also unveiled a new partnership with Kuwaiti firm Impulse International, a
company that was established to be a unique venture capital company that
invests in ICT and transfers technology into the region through its
investments. Impulse is a subsidiary of National Technology Enterprises Company
(NTEC), which is a fully owned subsidiary of Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA).
The partnership will see the concern invest in Tawasol and also partner with it
in developing new cutting edge projects. The move is expected to strengthen
Tawasol’s presence in Kuwait while giving Impulse, access to a portfolio of
cutting edge expertise in the mobility sphere.
Together with
Impulse International, Tawasol has also announced the launch of a new talent
incubator called Fikkraa– an initiative that supports and sponsors young Arab
developers in turning ideas into viable, profitable and sustainable mobility
apps that showcase the creativity and talent within the Arab world.
“The incubation,
support and sponsorship of Arab entrepreneurial talent have been dominating
conversations across the Middle East. We have as much raw talent in the region
as anywhere in the world. What we need to bring about a Silicon Valley
entrepreneurial transformation is to make available the support, financing and
facilitation infrastructure that can turn good ideas into great, profit-making
models that change the world. Fikkraa wants to find good ideas, groom and
support them, and turn them into great apps that have the potential to generate
revenue,” Dr Moustafa added.
Finally, FC
Barcelona, in association with Tawasol, launched the new official app FCB Studio appon the App store and Google Play. FCB
Studio app is designed to open a new social and digital platform for the FC Barcelona’s
community. The app is designed to help the renowned football club engage more
deeply with its global multilingual fan base across social and digital spaces.
Worldwide Barça
fans can capture photos of themselves next to their favourite players, edit
themand instantly share on their social networks. FCB Studio is a must-have app
for any true FC Barcelona supporter. It allows fans access to hundreds of new,
updated images of FCB players, and lets them connect with a community of
millions of FC Barcelona fans worldwide.
Powerful
photo-editing feature allows users to use the app’s image library to create
unforgettable moments with their footballing heroes before submitting the
tailored images to the app’s social networks. The top ten most liked images
stand a chance of winning a trip to Camp Nou, FC Barcelona’s legendary home.
For the football
club, the app’s advanced functionality makes it incredibly easy to disseminate
compelling content. All content can be tailored for groups and even individuals
based on interests, demographics and geographies.
“We are delighted
to be able to help a club of FC Barcelona’ renown reach out to fans across the
world. Football is a game that stirs passions and gets hearts racing worldwide.
